For the eighth time we have met during the "Day of Science" in Zabrze - an outdoor event promoting the achievements and products of regional scientific and cultural centers. This time, at our stand visitors could have seen and test the virtual operating room and laparoscopic surgery trainer. Despite the weather crowds have already appeared before the event and during the day the intereset have only risen.

Robin Heart on the "Day of Science and Industry" |

Thank you for meeting during this year's edition of the "Day of Science and Industry". During the event, which took place on 12th of September in Technopark Gliwice, we were presenting the main results of our recent work, including the newest "baby" of Biocybernetics Laboratory of Cardiac Surgery Development Foundation - the prototype named RobinHeart Junior- multitasking, remote-controlled robot to perform and support operations on the heart, as well as treatments in other areas of surgery. Very popular amongst visitors were also the virtual operating room, which is intended, to improve the operation planning process and a virtual trainer, used to improve skills in handling the laparoscopic tools.

6 czerwca w czasie konferencji „Nowe technologie komunikacji dla biznesu” przeprowadzono kolejny udany eksperyment telemanipulacji robotem Robin Hart Vision na odległość.
W czasie prezentacji „Robin Heart story – polski telemanipulator chirurgiczny od świata wirtualnego i realnego” w katowickiej Wyższej Szkole Technicznej dr Zbigniew Nawrat połączył się z zespołem Pracowni Biocybernetyki w Fundacji Rozwoju Kardiochirurgii w Zabrzu i zademonstrował sterowanie ze swojego komputera wykorzystując sieć internetowa robotem w Zabrzu.

Robotic Surgery Congress in Wroclaw |

First International Congress of Polish Society for Robotic Surgery (PTChR) was held in Wroclaw on 1st – 3rd March. Lead animator, creator and host of this great meeting of a surgical robot users from around the world was prof. Wojciech Witkiewicz. Thanks to His activities a first da Vinci surgical robot appeared in Poland and the field for training the usage of robots for various applications in surgery was created.
