On the 17th of May 2010 animal experiment was carried out by surgical robots Robin Heart in Experimental Medicine Centre of Medical University of Silesia in Katowice. New type of robot Robin Heart mc2 was evaluated in conditions similar to.
Elements of the operations were performed on heart-related coronary artery. Experiences of major importance were collected for a completely new version of the medical robots designed for a wide field of application in surgery. Robot itself will be presented to the public shortly after completing the necessary work of protecting the intellectual property of the solution. The team, which participated in the preparation and carried out this extraordinary experiment consisted of eminent surgeons, veterinarians, engineers and technicians of various specialties. The experiment was carried out thank to commitment of the following institutions: The Foundation for Cardiac Surgery Development in Zabrze (financing the experiment, carrying out the project Robin Heart), CMD Medical University of Silesia in Katowice and the Silesian Centre of Heart Diseases and Department of Cardiac Surgery and Transplantation, Silesian University of Medicine in Zabrze.
